Both former Beaumont City Councilmen Brian DeForge and Roger Berg are Attending the Arraignment of the Expendable Seven; City Manager Alan Kapanicas, Chief of Police Frank Coe, Finance Director William Aylward, Planning Director Ernest Egger, Public Works Director Deepak Moorjani, Economic Development Director Dave Dillon, and City Attorney Joe Aklufi.

The Expendable Seven’s defense is that they are only staff, that it was Council that directed and approved everything and was aware of everything.

Beaumont City Councilmen are going to testify that yes, they take full credit for all of the fraud and embezzlement.

The ‘normal’ stance would be for the councilmen to feign shock and indignation at the allegations of illegal activity and to claim no knowledge.

But it’s a little hard to claim ‘no knowledge’ when everything was approved by Council.

It is unbelievable that Beaumont Councilmen still do not understand that ‘approving’ illegal activity does not make it legal; it means that the councilmen are guilty of fraud, embezzlement, and aiding and abetting government corruption.

TO THIS DAY not one person has been fired. Kyle Warsinski, Rebecca Deming, Elizabeth Gibbs-Urtiaga, and Kari Mendoza still hold executive positions with the City. Dillon, Egger, and Moorjani have never resigned nor have they been fired. Urban Logic Consultants’ Contract was Approved by the current Council and has never been canceled. Alan Kapanicas continues to receive a Salary from the Beaumont Taxpayers.
