State law requires that all government contracts go through the publicly bid process to ensure that taxpayer money is protected. Elected and Appointed Officials funnel any money to their privately held companies without violating State Conflict of Interest laws.

Beaumont is a perfect example of why California Conflict of Interest laws are in place.

Massive growth occurred in Beaumont from 2000 to 2009, but there were no public bids and only a hand full of Companies were used. A total of $79 Million was recorded on the City’s Check Warrant with Beaumont Staff’s funneling most of the money to their private companies.
