ERMAC Covers the Cities of Beaumont, Laguna Hills, Santa Maria, & Hayward

ERMAC provides coverage to four (4) cities: Laguna Hills, Santa Maria, Hayward, and the City of Beaumont. A review of the other cities’ policies reveal that the City of Beaumont pays over twice as much per population for their City’s insurance than the other three Cities. Based on the average payment of the other cities, the City of Beaumont should be paying about $160,000/yearly for their insurance coverage.

The Beaumont City Manger and Risk Manager are paying $200,000 more for their insurance because the extra money goes into James Gregg and Alan Kapanicas’ pockets.

But what’s in it for the sitting Council Members? How much of the $200,000 is going into Brian Deforge’s pocket that he got so huffy at the mention of ERMAC at the last Council Meeting.

The twist of reality the City published on their ‘Just the Lies’ web page: “JUST THE FACTS: Beaumont is a member of ERMAC and PASIS, joint powers insurance public agencies made up of, and owned by cities and are not private companies. ERMAC and PASIS provide insurance coverage for its member government agencies, including the City of Beaumont.”

What’s that got to do with the Citizens of Beaumont paying $200,000/year more or their City’s insurance than everyone else in the State?

Below is a breakdown of each city’s insurance policy covered by ERMAC. I requested copies of the insurance policies from each city and have received copies of the policy from every city except Beaumont.
