Beaumont Mayor Claims Wastewater Certification, but Refuses to Release Documents

Beaumont Mayor Brenda Knight states on the City’s website: “Mayor Knight is a graduate of the “Water Treatment Plant Operation Specialist” program from California State University, Sacramento.” : http://www.ci.beaumont.ca.us/index.aspx?nid=768
At the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board Meeting Brenda Knight stated to the Board: “ I do have a Technical Degree from Cal State Sacramento in Water Treatment. I’m actually classified as a ‘Water Treatment Plant Operations Specialist.”
#1 – it’s not a degree – it’s a six unit online continuing education course.
#2 – For ‘some reason’ the City/Brenda Knight refuse to release the Certification claiming that the Certification is ‘personal’.
Incorrect.
Brenda Knight has referenced the Certification in her official capacity as Mayor of Beaumont. Knight referenced the Certificate in previous council meetings and the reason citizens should trust her that Beaumont has a ‘state of the art’ recycled water facility.
The bigger question is: if Brenda Knight has anything resembling knowledge in wastewater treatment plants then why didn’t she realize the Beaumont’s sewer plant is in ruins?
