The City of Beaumont claims that it’s ‘too expensive’ to have any independent or outside Auditors look at the City books. The following is a breakdown of the City of Beaumont Check Warrant located on the October 1st, 2013. The City lists total expenditures at $3,780,915.28 broken down into the following categories:

The City also paid the GAAP Auditing Firm of Moss, Levy, Hartzheim a total of $19,151 in two separate checks. There are many transactions on the July/August General Ledger dated ’06/30/12′. Apparently the City is attempting to close the books from two years ago. Good luck to them.

The August Bank Statement shows the City of Beaumont took in $13,692,026.56 and spent $15,368,324.63. This leaves a deficit of $1,676,298.07.

As of August 31, 2013 the City of Beaumont has $4.5 Million in the Checking and $1.8 Million in the State LAIF (local agency investment fund).

Council can lie to the Citizenry and ignore the financial disaster they’ve created for about two more months before the City will have to declare bankruptcy.
