90 Day Stay on WRCOG $60 Million TUMF Judgement

The City has 90 Days to Formulate a Plan for Repayment. Zero was Budgeted or Saved in the Last Two Years.

The City of Beaumont stole $42 Million of TUMF Mitigation Fees from the Western Riverside Council of Governments.

It wasn’t a secret; Beaumont City Council passed a Resolution and wrote in the General Plan that they would keep the TUMF instead of turning it over to the County as required by Law.

After four years in Court two years in Appeals the City of Beaumont has lost the WRCOG Appeal, which is no shock to anyone.

On July 11, 2016 an additional Continuance was given to see if the two parties can come to an Agreement.

This gives the City of Beaumont 90 days to make a plan for repayment. If the City can’t/won’t the WRCOG will return to Court and get the Judgement for $60+ Million to be repaid in 10 years as required by Law.

The City of Beaumont just passed their 2016/2017 Budget with Millions allocated to lawyers and consultants, but not one penny to pay the Judgement.

Because the City of Beaumont doesn’t ‘budget’ to pay bills, they only ‘budget’ to spend money on lawyers, consultants, and parties.
