Agenda Item 18. Approval to Purchase Land that LAFCO Refuses to Annex Into City Limits.
Agenda Item 18: Purchase of Property from ASM Beaumont Investors LLC:http://www.ci.beaumont.ca.us/D…
Beaumont Investors LLC have been attempting to annex their property into the City of Beaumont since May 28, 2014. LAFCO refuses to allow the annexation because the City can not produce an legitimate Audit or a way to provide Public Services: http://lafco.org/wp-content/up…
In another of a long list of ‘fk you’ moves; the City has decided it would circumvent the County by purchasing the property itself.
Apparently Beaumont City Manager Warne already made an Agreement to purchase the property, but the Staff Report does not disclose the amount.
Riverside County Tax Assessor lists the Appraisal Value of the property at $1,111,919. The Property was last sold on 12/28/2006 for $1 Million.
Hate to shock it to the City of Beaumont; but purchase of property by an agency doesn’t change the property’s residence. LAFCO still has to approve the annexation of the property into the City.
Legally; LAFCO still must approve the Annexation, but Beaumont doesn’t care about legality.
