PRR: Blocking Court Proceeding from Public Access

Either it’s a Rogue Cop or the Sheriff’s Department is in Collusion with Riverside County District Attorney’s Office & Judge Mac R. Fisher

On May 18, 2018, Judy Bingham and myself was denied access to the Hearing for former City Attorney Joe Aklufi by the Bailiff/Riverside County Sheriff. The Bailiff/Sheriff’s Superior also participated in denying Bingham and myself the right to view the proceedings.

The Sheriff’s department claimed that they had established a procedure that denied Citizens their right to witness public hearings in violation of State and Federal Laws.

In a Criminal Court Proceeding; Citizens have the same First Amendment right to attend all stages of criminal trials as in Federal Courts. (Richmond Newspapers v. Virginia) 448 U.S. 555,580 (1980).

Access to the public can only be denied if a party seeking to close the hearing has an overriding interest that is likely to prejudiced and the closure is narrowly tailored to protect that interest.

Either the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department took it upon themselves to violate State and Federal Laws or the Sheriff’s Department was in collusion with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and Judge Mac R. Fisher.
