On April 22, 2016 the SEC issued Subpoenas to the City of Beaumont, the Beaumont Financing Authority, and the City of Beaumont Community Facilities District No. 93-1. The terms of the Subpoena required the City to produce all documents requested by May 13, 2016. On May 17, 2016 the City of Beaumont voted to acquire another illegal Bond for $16 Million. On May 18th the City released a Press Release stating that the SEC issued the Subpoenas on April 22nd, but failed to mention the deadline to comply with the Subpoena has expired a week earlier.
