Nicklaus Park – The City Can Not Afford Any Cost of Maintenance

Adjustments were made to Reduce Water and Cost of Maintenance to the City of Beaumont. The City Can Not Afford Any Cost of Maintenance.

Although listed at the bottom of the Agenda Items, the Presentation of Nicklaus Park will be made by Argent Property Management before Public Comment.

Nicklaus Park is located inside Fairway Canyon Area 19C. Parks inside of development areas should be maintained by the development areas, not the government.

The plan for the Park include Baseball and Soccer Fields; Jungle Gym, Handball and Hopscotch; Restrooms; Exercise Equipment; Dog Park; Benches, Picnic Tables, and BBQ’s; Walkways and Freebee Golf.

The Presentation addresses water-saving measures, but does not address the fact that there is no money to build and maintain a park. This Area of Beaumont is over 10 minutes away from any Fire or Safety Protection.

The City of Beaumont does not have the staff or money to maintain their current parks, most of which were never completed with luxuries like ‘bathrooms’. Property Owners in Fairway Canyon pay Mello Roos Taxes, but have no facilities or services.

Beaumont City Council must stop believing every slideshow with pretty pictures that is presented to them and start prioritizing the City’s revenues.
