$266,591 Plus Benefits for Another Manager, but the City Still has no Finance Director or Accounting Staff.
Beaumont City Council has ‘Approved’ bringing in another ‘Manager’ from Texas because there were no Managers in the State of California that were qualified; according to the “Executive Panel” that actually choose the Manager.
Kristine Day, from Kerrville, Texas, was not chosen by Parton, who worked with the woman in that little Texas Town. As Beaumont’s City Manager Todd Parton explained to Council; Ms. Day was chosen by an ‘Executive Panel’.
And what’s the advantage of hiring Out of State Staff?
They don’t know California State Laws. And being from Texas; they don’t care about California State Laws or even Federal Laws.
But Laws or a person’s ability are of no concern to Council; the only issue of importance is that Parton has someone that he’s happy with.
Ms. Day’s past experience is in Parks and Recreation, which makes her more than qualified to work in Beaumont.
Councilmen Julio Martinez did ask if there wasn’t a more important need for an Accountant, but Parton assured the Council that Accounting wasn’t important or needed.
It is much more important to bring someone in that has no management or accounting abilities to fit into the ‘Beaumont Government Family of Crooks’.
