Kishen,

Attached is a list of items that need to be addressed at the treatment plant.

Kim

List of Items that need to be addressed:
Conveyor for sludge needs to be over hauled-in progress
Buy variable flow waste pumps
Aeration basins need to be cleaned- filling up may impact plant operations and potential violations of NPDE Permit
Get the second Andritz centrifuge operational as soon as possible (3 weeks for motor)
Scada needs to be completed and work to include RAS pumps 1,2 &3
Marshall Creek discharge pump needs to be repaired but it is preferred to replace with a larger newer pump
Get pump 3 repaired and returned to Mesa, pumps 1 & 4 will also need to be serviced
Blowers should be replaced with more efficient ones (recommend turbines)
Consider buying newer pumps for all lift stations
Hard wire all pump station alarms with new dialers
Need to refurbish the second gravity sludge thickener to include alarm system and scads
Wash water at all pump stations
Flow equalization basin needs to be brought on line as soon as possible, Consider building lines to the proposed equalization basin to divert raw sewage, secondary of the final effluent as appropriate
Eventually we need more up to date, state-of –the art UV system
In the next plant expansion consider addition of a grit chamber
Consider adding one more centrifuge to address increasing flows
New sewer jet and or trailer jet
Immediate needs:
Because of aerations basins may be full of grits/sand we are having ripple effect on over all plant operation. Solids will start going over the weirs. Sludge blankets are raising indicating buildup of solids throughout the plant. We need to remove solids out of the system by renting/ purchasing new WAS pumps and a centrifuge. More trailers may need to be ordered.

Beaumont citizens have two separate issues:

1) there are hundreds of millions in infrastructure that has to be built TODAY … the sewer lines, the title 22 compliant recycled water, the brine disposal, the fire stations, the roads – all have to be budgeted for – ‘not sent to committee’.. there are also millions in lawsuits that have to be accounted for – and if the citizens want to allow a sue-happy government they have to pay the $3-4 million/year in legal fees…

2) the government is never going to hold themselves accountable.
