Beaumont Council Meeting october 18, 2016: What did We Learn

We learned that the Beaumont City Council Will Never Learn.

Closed Session Report

Council will go back into Closed Session after Regular Session for 3 Potential Cases and purchase of worthless property.

Item 16 Item 16 – Award of Contract for Rehabilitation Services and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) removed from the Agenda.

Lloyd White asked for Item 04 – Request that the City Council Consider the Changing of the Name of Columbus Day to be removed since it was not voted on by Council to make it an Agenda Item. Brenda Knight 2nd the Motion. I guess the love affair between Orozco and Knight is over.

Orozco requested a Motion to put Item 4 on the Agenda, but there was no 2nd, so it died in Council.

Dirty Della Condon gives props to the Hillbilly in her Council Report.

Agenda 1: Steal $5 Million from Sewer Fund.

$900/hr Lawyer didn’t show up, so Law Firm sent $800/hr Lawyer to state that everything is legal.

Unanimously Approved by Council.

Item 02 – Dissolution of Improvement Area No. 7E of CFD No. 93-1 and Formation of CFD No. 2016-4

Brian Forebath sells it. It’s Four Seasons, not Pardee Homes.

7:35 pm The Hillbilly and the Cop Candidate were sitting together in the back row, but the Hillbilly motioned to the Cop Candidate and they both got up and walked out. The bond stuff is over their heads

Item 03 – Review and Discuss Finance and Audit Committee Duties and Responsibilities.

Item 05 – Approval of Attorney Invoices

Pinkney gets up to walk out of the room. Warne jumps on the microphone and says ‘Request Approval’. All the Council Members giggle at Warne’s exuberance to throw Pinkney $61,000.

8:17 Dr. Ball gets up and leaves the room in disgust.

Item 06 – Reimbursement of Travel Expenses to Mayor-Pro Tem, Lloyd White

Orozco is whining about reimbursing White and not him, but at the time Orozco said that he would pay his own expenses. Vote 3/1

City Treasurer’s Report: Nancy Carroll gives excuse for not filling a Public Records Request for her Certifications and Communication to/from the California Municipal Treasurer’s Association. Theory is that since she never took any money from City everything is private, not public.
