The November 18, 2014 Beaumont City Council Agenda included another $10,000/month consulting contract for City Public Works Director Deepak Moorjani that is also a Principal of Urban Logic Consultants.
Not only does City Manager Alan Kapanicas and Mayor Knight lie about promoting Kyle Warsinski to the position of Public Works Director; they go into a detailed lie that includes an attempt to imply that it is the Citizenry that is not paying attention.
97:45 Kapanicas: For clarity; the Public Works Director is Kyle Warsinski, so I’m not sure why someone else is getting credit. He was put in at the new Fiscal Year. He is the Public Works Director. In fact you all gave applauded him..
98:00 Knight: An ‘ata boy’, yes we did. …
Kapanicas: We’ve been able to promote from within, which we thinks quite important to bring out next generation up instead of doing what many cities are doing, which is gone to the outside and brought people in from outside of the area, so Kyle is the Public Works Director.
Judy Bingham: What meeting was that please?
Kapanicas: I think it was at the first meeting in the Fiscal Year
Knight: Kyle, do you remember?
Kapanicas: He’s been up so many times with reports….
Knight: Kyle, maybe, we have a lot of new people here and maybe when our Staff gets up they can give their titles so people can recognize who they are and what they are doing for our City. We’re all used to working with them, but when you have new people and other people that don’t realize that there has been a promotion. So Kyle, congratulations on your promotion six months ago, we appreciate it, we appreciate you, so let’s go forward.
99:10 Kapanicas: I just didn’t want the myth to keep going. Kyle was awarded it at the beginning of the year, the beginning of the fiscal year. We actually looked back in January. Many of the Public that are here will hopefully get the right information and not the myths.
Knight: Right. Thank you.
