BCVWD Tabled Both Developers’ Request to Honor Old Will-Serve Letters and Approved Resolution to Halt All Will-Serve Letters.

Congrats to the Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District for tabling old will-serve letters. Sunny-Cal planned to develop 497 houses at the old turkey ranch and K. Hovanian requested will-serve letters to build another 172 houses in the Four Seasons Development.

The Water District then approved Resolution 2014-05 effectively stopping all will-serve letters until drought conditions improve and there is more than a 5-year supply of drinking water remaining.

The BCVWD did what agencies are established to do, which is to protect the public. We all know that the developers and building association have threatened to sue the Water District if they are not allowed to continue to build, but it is not the Water District that deceived them.

The City of Beaumont was supposed to expand their Sewer Plant and build a Recycled Water Plant by 1995, but the corrupt elected and appointed officials stole all the money.

Developers can feel free to file a lawsuit against the City of Beaumont, but it’s a really long line leading to empty coffers as the City is only worth a fraction of the debt accumulated.

Developers flock to Beaumont because of the ‘great deals’. Now they know those great deals were deals with the devil.
