The City Will Have To Do It Over and Over Until They Get It Right

When municipal bonds are issued the Bond Trustee establishes Bond Fund Accounts as directed on each individual bond. As it involves ‘The People’s Business’ the bond fund accounts are a matter of Public Record.
Judy Bingham has been demanding that the City release the Bond Fund Accounts since December, but the City has refused to transmit the forms electronically or release the records on a disk. Both the City Treasurer and City Clerk were also notified that the City was withholding Public Records.
In an attempt to feign transparency the City has uploaded some of the Bond Fund Accounts onto the City’s Website: http://www.ci.beaumont.ca.us/DocumentCenter/Index/595
Unfortunately, it is only fraction of November’s Bond Fund Accounts.
The City released the following accounts:
1993 Escrow Fund with a balance of $3,422,850.80. This Bond has a $8.5 Million balloon payment due 2023.
17 Bond Fund Accounts for the 1994 Bond.
7 Bond Fund Account for the 2001 Wastewater Bond.
