Time for Beaumont to Produce their Internal Controls AND Managers’ Report

The ‘Financial Statements’ are comprised of the GAAP Audit, the Internal Controls Report, and the Managers’ Analysis. Government documents are public records, but every year Beaumont Citizens have to fight to review Beaumont’s financial information.
The 2013 – 2014 Financial Statements were signed on January 29th, but the City refused to release the documents. The City released the Audit On February 28th and ‘promised’ to release the Internal Controls Report AND the Managements’ Analysis BY Friday, March 6th.
The City of Beaumont never produced an Internal Controls Report until demanded from the Public last year. Every year City Staff claims the Internal Controls Report is ‘Not Ready’ in an attempt to withhold the Internal Controls Report. The Internal Controls Report is dated and released on the same day and at the same time as the Audit.
The City of Beaumont has never presented a Managers’ Analysis as required by State and Federal Law.
NEVER.
The City claims that they will also present the Managers’ along with the Internal Controls Report. Let’s see it happen.
