In response to an investigation into the city’s financial and reporting practices by the state Controller’s Office, Beaumont officials have release an official statement.
The city says they will work with the agency to help clarify “…the areas of concern outlined…” by the agency.
Here’s the full statement from the city:
On Tuesday, May 19th, the City of Beaumont received a notification letter from the State Controller’s Office. The letter stated that the State Controller’s Office will be conducting an investigation in relation to the financial practices and reporting practices of the City.
The City is fully committed to cooperating with the State Controller’s investigation and looks forward to clarifying the areas of concern outlined in the notification letter.
The City will continue to update the public on the progress of the investigation as information is made available by the State Controller’s Office.
