BCVWD Seeks Public Input on Water Supply and Drought Issues

The Beaumont Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD) will host a public forum/workshop to discuss water supply, drought restrictions and long term planning issues following the regular Board of Directors Meeting September 10th at 7:00 P.M. The purpose of the meeting is to seek public input on what additional measures should be considered with respect to the statewide droug and the future of water supply for the region.

Members of the Beaumont City Council in addition to council candidates in the upcoming election have been invited to attend and participate in the forum. The public is encouraged to provide input with respect to the impacts associated with water supply, water use restrictions, and regional planning.

“The State of California recently adopted emergency regulations that mandate all water suppliers to implement water use restrictions” said Ryan Woll, BCVWD President of the Board.

“There is a lot of uncertainty with the future of water in California and our Board would like to understand what direction our customers would like the District to go with respect
to future watering restrictions and overall land use planning. All of these issues ultimately impact water rates and quality of life issues for the area”, stated Dr. Blair Ball, BCVWD
Board Member who called for the meeting. “We want to understand what is the will of the people with respect to our future”, stated Ball.
